What Kartra does well
Kartra is one of the most complete marketing suites a solo business can rent. Its strengths:
- Everything for selling in one login: pages, funnels, checkout, email marketing, memberships, calendars, a help desk and video hosting.
- Automation that ties it together. Tags, sequences and rules move people from a free download to a sale to a membership.
- Funnel templates for common launches, so you're not starting from a blank page.
- No cut of sales above the lowest plan.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Paid a year up front | Contacts | Cut of your sales |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kartra Essentials | ~$59 a month | ~$52 a month | 500 | 5% |
| Kartra Starter | ~$119 a month | ~$99 a month | 2,500 | None |
| Kartra Growth | ~$229 a month | ~$189 a month | 12,500 | None |
| Kartra Professional | ~$549 a month | ~$429 a month | 25,000 | None |
Why people look for a Kartra alternative
- You pay by the size of your list. As contacts grow, so does the plan. Write-ups of Kartra's terms say going over a limit moves you up a plan automatically.
- The lowest plan takes a cut. Essentials adds 5% of each sale on top of card processing.
- It's a lot of software. Many people use a fraction of it and still pay for all of it.
- Members and courses aren't the focus. The membership area works, but it's one part of a marketing suite rather than the heart of it.
- The bill is large and permanent. Starter billed monthly is ~$1,430 a year, every year.

Each alternative, honestly
Kajabi is the closest match for most Kartra users who sell courses or coaching: a website, courses, email, funnels and a community, and a more polished members area. It's priced like Kartra and still rented. See Kajabi pricing over five years.
ClickFunnels is the pick if funnels are the business: building, testing and tweaking pages is what it does best. Courses, community and email are there, but funnels come first.
Systeme.io is the money-saver. It covers funnels, email and courses for a fraction of Kartra's price, with a free plan to start. It's less polished, and it's another rented system.
GoHighLevel is built for agencies: CRM, pipelines, texting, reviews and funnels for many client accounts. It's powerful, and more than a single creator usually needs.
Owning your platform keeps the all-in-one idea and changes who owns it. With Deedmade™, you get your own website and your own members app with every feature included: sales funnels with A/B tests, order bumps and one-click upsells, abandoned-checkout emails, email marketing and automations, courses, a community, live sessions, booking and a shop. You pay $2,499 once (the early-bird price until December 31, 2026; the regular price is $3,900), there's no monthly fee required, and we take 0% of your sales. The platform's price doesn't grow with your list; email is sent through your own email sender account, which usually has a free plan and bills you directly as you send more. What you won't get is Kartra's built-in help desk or an agency-style CRM.
What three years costs
| Kartra Starter | Kartra Growth | Deedmade™ | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year 1, billed monthly | ~$1,430 | ~$2,750 | $2,499 |
| Year 3, billed monthly | ~$4,280 | ~$8,240 | $2,499 |
| Year 3, paid yearly | ~$3,560 | ~$6,800 | $2,499 |
| Year 5, billed monthly | ~$7,140 | ~$13,740 | $2,499 |
| If your list grows | A bigger plan | A bigger plan | Same platform price |
| Who owns it | Kartra | Kartra | You |
Owning has cost less from month 21. After that, renting keeps going and owning doesn't.
Owning still has small running costs: the card fee on each sale (as anywhere), your domain, and Cloudflare hosting, which is free or about $5 a month with live features. The $49 a month care plan is optional, and so is listing your app in the App Store and Google Play ($99 a month).
How to choose
- Stay on Kartra if you use most of it every week, especially the help desk and automations, and the bill is small next to your sales.
- Choose Kajabi if courses or coaching are the business and you want a nicer members area.
- Choose ClickFunnels if testing funnels is the core of how you sell.
- Choose Systeme.io if cutting the bill matters more than polish.
- Choose GoHighLevel if you're an agency running marketing for clients.
- Own your platform if you want funnels, email and members in one place on your own accounts, and you'd rather pay once.
Moving off Kartra
Export your contacts with their tags, list your funnels and sequences, and rebuild the ones that actually earn first. Move members and courses next, then switch your domain and checkout links on one day. Keep Kartra running for a billing cycle while you check everything works. Compare on our Kartra alternative page, or build yours free and see it working before you pay anything, with no credit card until you approve it.
Prices of other companies are approximate, from their own pricing pages on October 11, 2026 (yearly-billing prices, add-ons and plans not in our calculator were checked on November 6, 2026), and they change. Where a page shows a monthly price that is billed a year at a time, we say so. Check their websites for today's prices.
